In a world that often feels a little too serious, we could all use more people like Jimmy Rees – quick to laugh, down-to-earth, and always ready to poke fun at everyday life.
The comedian, who first stole hearts on Giggle and Hoot, has since become one of Australia’s most beloved content creators, accumulating over four million followers and a reputation as a true national treasure.
A home built for fun (and three energetic boys!)
Jimmy invited Joh to his beautiful Mornington Peninsula home, which he shares with his wife, Tori, and their three boys – Lenny, 10, and the six-year-old twins Mack and Vinny.
Somehow, the couple have made an almost all-white interior work with three kids in tow. The home blends style and practicality, with playful touches like a pencil-filled lazy Susan and a kids’ playroom. Let’s not forget the basketball court, in-ground trampoline, and there’s even a giant climbing area.
“You just kind of roll with it,” Jimmy says, laughing. “We’ve got three kids, let’s be real.”

The skits that made Jimmy a household name (again)
Jimmy first shot to fame as the pyjama-wearing host of Giggle and Hoot, a role that began in 2009 and earned him lifelong fans. When the show ended, and with three young kids and a mortgage, he pivoted into digital comedy.
“It was born out of necessity,” he says. “We had to make something work.”
His “Meanwhile in Australia” sketches brought laughs during the COVID-19 pandemic, cementing him as one of Australia’s favourite online comedians.

Giving back with heart
Alongside his comedy, Jimmy is passionate about giving back. He has worked with charities including OzHarvest and Very Special Kids, an organisation close to his heart following the loss of his nephew.
“I’m thrilled to be in a position where people think of me to help out,” he says humbly. His contributions were recognised in 2004 with an Order of Australia Medal.
Still just a larrikin at heart
Whether he’s shooting hoops in the backyard or jumping on the trampoline with his boys, Jimmy Rees hasn’t lost his inner kid. And lucky for us, he’s bringing the laughs with him on tour this November, hitting all major cities across Australia. Find out more.
