This classic chocolate self-saucing pudding is the ultimate cosy dessert!

Soft, fluffy cake on top with a rich, gooey chocolate sauce underneath – it’s pure magic! And the best part? It’s super easy to make. Just mix, bake, and scoop up all that chocolatey goodness.

Ingredients

Sauce

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 1.5-litre baking dish.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk together the milk, egg and melted butter.

Step 3

Add the flour, cocoa and sugar, then whisk until smooth.  Spoon batter into prepared dish.

Step 4

For the sauce, mix cocoa and brown sugar together, then sprinkle it evenly over the batter.

Step 5

Hold a large metal spoon upside down over the batter and gently pour the boiling water over the back of the spoon (using a spoon to pour water over keeps the cake light and fluffy).

Step 6

Bake 30–35 minutes, until the top is set and the sauce is bubbling underneath. Serve warm with ice cream and Easter eggs.
