Create a delicious mud cake with no fuss with this genius mud cake hack using only 5 ingredients. It won’t only look super impressive, but it will also taste even better, and for some, it may even feel nostalgic. Why? It’s using store-bought cake.

This hack will save you time, money and stress. Whether it’s for a birthday or a family gathering, it’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Ingredients

3 x 420g tubs vanilla buttercream

Green food colouring

2 bought white chocolate mud cakes

15 mini yellow M&M’s (approx.)

120g bag flaked almonds

Method

Step 1

Transfer buttercream to a large bowl and stir to loosen. Tint pale green with a few drops of food colouring, stirring gently to combine.

Step 2

Trim tops of cakes slightly to remove icing. Place one cake on a cake stand and dollop with about one-quarter of the buttercream. Top with remaining cake. Spread top and sides with remaining buttercream.

Step 3

One at a time, press an M&M into cake, then press six flaked almonds around to form petals of a flower. Repeat to cover cake.
