Transfer buttercream to a large bowl and stir to loosen. Tint pale green with a few drops of food colouring, stirring gently to combine.
Trim tops of cakes slightly to remove icing. Place one cake on a cake stand and dollop with about one-quarter of the buttercream. Top with remaining cake. Spread top and sides with remaining buttercream.
One at a time, press an M&M into cake, then press six flaked almonds around to form petals of a flower. Repeat to cover cake.
